Overpaying for a car is never a good idea, but many people don't know how to get a better deal. Here are some tips to help you get the most car for your buying dollars.

Make a low offer, and go up only if necessary. The salesperson will offer something extra, like an extended service warranty, to get your offer price higher. If the add-on is something you want, great, but if it's not, turn it down. Only up your offer when the dealer gives you something you want.
